I had the privilege of speaking on Life Talks with Mehnaz Akbar Aziz — a dedicated advocate for the rights of women, children, and minorities, and a former Member of Pakistan’s National Assembly, one of the very few women elected in a country of 250 million people.
We spoke openly about Gaza and Palestine, about the initiative of more than 400 former ambassadors calling for peace, and about how the silence of the powerful often translates into human suffering.
For me, this was not just another interview. It was a reminder that we carry a responsibility to speak out when human rights are violated — even when doing so is not politically convenient. I firmly believe that international legality, solidarity, and human dignity cannot be selective.
I will continue to raise my voice for peace, justice, and respect for human life — everywhere.
