“O Logos tou Politi” | Vergina TV Cyprus

Feb 16, 2026 | SM

On 27 January, I was invited to appear on “O Logos tou Politi” on Vergina TV Cyprus.

During the program, we addressed key issues relating to Cyprus’ role in an increasingly complex international environment. The discussion explored the debate surrounding the so-called “Peace Council,” the political and economic implications for small states participating in emerging international groupings, and the practical limits of international law in today’s shifting geopolitical landscape.

I stressed that, despite its imperfections and the selective way it is sometimes applied, international law remains the Republic of Cyprus’ most important institutional safeguard. For small states in particular, adherence to and defense of the rules-based international order is not an abstract principle — it is a strategic necessity.
